Chartzy helps you turn raw numbers into polished, on-brand charts. This policy explains what data we collect and why, across both the marketing site at chartzy.appand the app at studio.chartzy.app. Chartzy is run by an individual, not a registered company.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign up, our authentication provider (WorkOS) handles sign-in and passes us your email address and, if you use a social or single-sign-on login, your name and profile image. We never see or store your password.
- The content you create. The charts, data, colors, logos, and workspace settings you add to Chartzy, so we can save your work and show it back to you.
- Payment information (Pro plans only). Billing is handled by our payments provider (Dodo Payments), which processes your card and sends us your subscription status. We never receive your full card number.
- Standard hosting logs (IP address, browser, referring page) recorded automatically when a page loads.
- Aggregate, cookieless analytics — non-identifying signals such as page views and which features are used — via PostHog, so we can see how Chartzy is doing.
We don’t use advertising cookies, and our analytics run without cookies.
AI features and your data
When you ask the AI to edit a chart, the relevant chart and the data in it are sent to our AI provider (OpenRouter, which routes to the underlying model) to generate that single edit. Your data is not used to train any model, and AI runs only when you ask it to — never in the background. Your charts stay yours to keep and export.
Why we collect it
- To create and secure your account and save the charts you make.
- To provide the features you use, including AI editing and paid-plan billing.
- To keep the site running, secure, and improving.
We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that make Chartzy work, and only as needed to run it:
- Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery.
- Railway — the database and backend where your account and charts are stored.
- WorkOS — sign-in and account authentication.
- OpenRouter — processing AI edits you request.
- Dodo Payments — subscription billing for Pro.
- PostHog — anonymous, cookieless analytics.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account and charts for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual charts at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data entirely by emailing support@chartzy.app.
Children
Chartzy isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We’ll update this policy as Chartzy grows, and change the “Last updated” date above when we do.
